Tuesday, August 10, 2021
Eligible projects can apply for one-off grants of up to £4,000.
The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music today open its global fund, which aims to help musicians progress their learning by sponsoring community projects around the world.
Eligible projects can apply for one-off grants of up to £4,000. Projects can include local festivals and outreach work and performance opportunities for young musicians in youth chamber ensembles, orchestras and choirs.
The ABRSM International Sponsorship Fund (ISF) was set up in 2012, with the most recent round of grants awarded to projects in Brazil, Haiti, Kenya and Nicaragua, with a focus on musical tuition, music employment, social inclusion and wellbeing.
ABRSM Chief Executive Chris Cobb said: 'ABRSM is committed to supporting music learning around the globe and the ISF is a modest but important part of our commitment.
'We’re looking for exciting projects that can really make a difference to learners by giving them the kind of musical opportunities that they would otherwise never have had.'
Eligible projects must work outside the UK and Ireland to encourage progression in music.
