Monday, July 5, 2021

The annual festival will run from 30 July to 11 September 2021.

The BBC has today announced plans for this year's TV and radio coverage of the Proms.

TV coverage will focus on key themes across the season: a celebration of UK music talent; performances by international soloists and conductors; and a spotlight on rising stars on the scene.

Twenty concerts will be broadcast across BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC Four, and every single performance is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.

BBC Two will broadcast the First and Last Nights live (with the second half of the Last Night on BBC One) as well as key events on Saturdays, and a regular pattern of Proms concerts will be broadcast on BBC Four every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Presenters include organist and broadcaster Anna Lapwood and Mastermind host and jazz aficionado Clive Myrie, as well as regulars Katie Derham, Suzy Klein, Josie d’Arby, Jess Gillam, Tom Service, and Petroc Trelawny.

Alan Davey, controller BBC Radio 3 and classical music says: 'This year, with the return of live audiences to the Royal Albert Hall, it is more important than ever to make sure that everyone will have access to the  glorious music of the Proms.

'I am delighted that BBC Radio 3 will broadcast every note of this wonderful Proms season, available live and when you fancy throughout the season.

'It’s an inspiring and joyous celebration of live music from British ensembles and international talent, with 52 concerts over 44 days with over 2,000 musicians. We hope you will join us.'
