Next year's hybrid conference will explore the theme of ‘rebound’ as the music industry begins to recover from the pandemic
The ABO Annual conference will return next year with a hybrid mix of in-person and online sessions. Held in a range of venues across Glasgow as well as online, the event will explore the theme of ‘rebound’, as the UK economy begins to recover from the worst of the pandemic.
With online sessions available to both in-person and digital delegates, the conference will look through this lens of rebound and recovery at the music business, with a keynote speech from Lord Mendoza, commissioner for cultural recovery and renewal within the DCMS, as well as at the music workforce and at music education.
Classical Music is proud to be the ABO’s Digital Media Partner for this event, which brings together speakers, delegates and organisations from across the globe to attend a wide variety of debates, workshops, networking and music. The 2022 conference is hosted by both the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, with concerts featuring musicians from both orchestras as well as from the Scottish Ensemble and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Next year’s conference will again include the presentation of the annual ABO/Classical Music Awards, with awards being given for Orchestra Manager of the Year, Concert Hall Manager of the Year, and Artist Manager of the Year as well as the prestigious ABO award.
