Green receives his award in recognition of his 40 years of writing about artist management in his monthly column in Classical Music magazine

Journalist, broadcaster and Classical Music magazine columnist Andrew Green has been named as this year’s winner of the International Artist Managers Association (IAMA) Award. Green received his award at the closing party of the 2025 IAMA conference, which took place at St John’s Smith Square in London on Friday (11 April).
Green’s award was presented by Helen Sykes, who recently retired following a successful career at the helm of Helen Sykes Artists' Management. He receives his award in recognition of his 40 years of writing about all aspects of the artist management profession in his monthly column in Classical Music magazine. His most recent column reflects on the changing perceptions of artist managers held by young musicians entering the profession.
Addressing the assembled IAMA conference delegates when receiving his award, Green said: ‘Yes, it’s fun to have your own column. Yes, it’s good for the brain cells to have the monthly challenge of coming up with the stories. Yes, there’s been the pleasure of working with all those engaging and dedicated editors at the magazine, but I wouldn’t be still wanting to write about artist management if it wasn’t for you good people… Your position as pivotal, essential, figures in the classical music ecosystem should be better understood and appreciated. This conference has always embodied and demonstrated this pivotal role. And I hope in some small way I and the magazine have helped advance and enhance that perception.’
Green received his award alongside fellow IAMA award winner Stephanie Challener, publisher of Musical America, and artist manager Cornelia Schmid, who received IAMA’s Honorary Life Membership. Next year’s IAMA conference is set to take place in the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
