Arts-focused grant-giving charity Continuo Foundation has today opened applications for its eighth round of funding. This latest grant round will support early music concerts, tours and other artistic projects taking place in the UK between November 2024 and April 2025.

With a total of £100,000 of funding available for this round, the Foundation has so far awarded £750,000 to nearly 100 period-instrument ensembles. Grants are focused on period instrument ensembles, but support for early music artists in other formats, including vocal ensembles, is available through the foundation’s Continuo Connect digital platform.

Foundation CEO Tina Vadaneaux said: ‘Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the astounding talent and creativity in the early music world. The smaller ensembles who are best suited to bring music of the highest quality to grassroots venues across the country often find fundraising daunting. By removing this barrier, creativity can flow, and music becomes accessible for all.’

Ensembles are invited to submit project proposals to be evaluated by the Foundationʼs Advisory Panel and Trustees in terms of artistic quality, audience reach, and long-term impact. Grants will range from £2,000 to £8,000. Applications must be submitted by 9 August, with awards announced by 26 September.

At least 20% of the funds will be directed to support recently formed groups (formed since 2020), underlining the Foundationʼs commitment to fostering emerging talent.
