Hunt will help make sure that PRS for Music remains focused on the view of its members

Crispin Hunt has been elected president of the PRS Members’ Council. Effective from January 2025, Hunt will lead the council in the task of making sure that PRS for Music remains focused on the views, concerns and needs of its members and be an advocate for the collective management organisation’s community of songwriters, composers, and music publishers.
Hunt succeeds the Members’ Council’s inaugural president Michelle Escoffery. During her tenure, she engaged over 2,000 members and was instrumental in the launch of PRS Members’ Days and PRS Connects, which provides space for members to find ways to forge sustainable careers.
Speaking about his appointment, Hunt said: ‘I am honoured to have been elected as PRS's President by our Members' Council. I look forward to serving and supporting our community with all my heart, insight, and energy as we unite to navigate the future of Music, uphold its human value, and empower our songs, scores, syncs, and symphonies through this exciting time for collective and creative rights. My heartfelt thanks to Michelle Escoffery for being such an inspirational act to follow.’
As well as enjoying a successful career as a songwriter and producer, Hunt has for five years been a writer director on the PRS Members’ Council, after serving as chair of the UK’s Ivors Academy for six years. He is also a former director and co-CEO of the Featured Artists Coalition which works to protect the rights of featured musical artists (as distinct from session musicians).
