Andrew Connolly steps down after over 20 years as director
Connolly said: 'I have been thinking for sometime that I’d like step back from being the director of the BBCCO and instead develop a mix of paid and voluntary work.
'Now the announcement is made I can start that process and begin to look forward to life as late starter freelancer! Being at the helm of the BBC Concert Orchestra for the past 20 years has been the most precious experience of my working life. What has been achieved would not have been possible without such an extraordinarily talented and receptive team of musicians and staff able to produce and perform so many hugely varied and ground breaking programmes.'
