RPS appoints Harriet Wybor as general manager

Wybor will manage the day to day running of the society alongside a management team run by chief executive James Murphy
The Royal Philharmonic Society (RPS) has announced the appointment of Harriet Wybor to the role of general manager effective from August this year.
Wybor will manage the day to day running of the society alongside programme coordinator Camilla Carden under the leadership of RPS chief executive James Murphy.
Murphy said: ‘As many friends in the profession will vouch, Harriet is such a force for good in music, constantly devising imaginative ways to initiate new projects, fresh connections, and so many valued opportunities for composers. There’s been a halo of positive affirmation from music-makers across the country at the news of her appointment on social media, and we dearly look forward to setting to work with her.’
Wybor’s previous experience includes strategic positions within PRS for Music (relationship manager) and Oxford University Press (head of development, music) as well as roles withmusic publishers Manners McDade and Music Sales (now Wise Music).
A trustee of Welsh music charity Tŷ Cerdd and of music education organisation Into Opera, Wybor is also board director of the UK Music Publishers’ Association. She has worked throughout her career to support music creators with the development of opportunities, commissions, and partnerships nationwide.
