The new partnership will see the genre-defying quartet release their first recording with the label

The Attacca Quartet has announced a new partnership with Apple-owned label Platoon. The collaboration will see the quartet release a new recording of Ravel’s String Quartet in F and participate in the label’s new live performance series, Platoon Presents at Kings Place (14 March).
Formed in 2003 at the Juilliard School by violinist Amy Schroeder and cellist Andrew Yee, Attacca Quartet combines classical repertoire with genre-defying projects including collaborations with Billie Eilish on her album Hit Me Hard and Soft and with composer Finneas O’Connell on the soundtrack of new Apple TV series Disclaimer.
The quartet’s first release as part of the new Platoon partnership will be a new recording of Ravel’s String Quartet in F, set to be released on 7 March. Future recording plans on the label include music by American composers Paul Wiancko and John Adams. The new collaboration follows the quartet’s continued success at the Grammy Awards since 2020, winning for the Evergreen and Orange albums, both made in collaboration with composer Caroline Shaw.
Attacca Quartet will perform Ravel’s String Quartet at London’s Kings Place arts hub on 14 March as part of the venue’s Platoon Presents series. The programme will also feature the UK Premiere of David Lang’s new quartet daisy, inspired by a campaign video from American president Lyndon Baines Johnson.
